Before it was a major animated motion picture from Walt Disney, Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” was a live-action short from Walt Disney. Below is part I and II.
The film stars a few of Burton’s favorite people, including Winona Ryder (“Beetlejuice,” “Edward Scissorhands”) as Elsa van Helsing, Victor’s somber classmate — who is mysteriously missing from the trailer — and Catherine O’Hara (“The Nightmare Before Christmas”) as Susan Frankenstein, Victor’s Mom. Shockingly, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are nowhere to be heard in the black and white, stop-motion film.
